Campus tree care plan implementation continues this fall

October 9, 2015

The Purdue campus is currently home to nearly 11,000 trees of more than 400 different varieties. The arborists in the Grounds Department use a carefully developed tree care plan to guide the management of trees on the West Lafayette campus.

The campus tree care plan is implemented throughout the year as trees are assessed, cared for, planted and removed, as appropriate. Each year, the Grounds Department ensures that more trees are planted than removed.

Throughout the fall, crews will be removing and planting trees as a part of this continuous improvement plan.

Questions about the tree care plan may be directed to the Grounds Department at 765-494-3087.
