Aging wellness is focus of upcoming Center for Healthy Living workshop

October 15, 2015

The Center for Healthy Living is offering a workshop focused on wellness in regard to aging. The workshop is part of the center's "Lunch and Learn" series and will take place from noon to 12:50 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Center for Healthy Living.

The workshop, led by Debra Nagel, health coach at the Center for Healthy Living, will focus on nutrition, physical activity, preventive screenings, safety practices and more to help individuals improve their overall wellness as they age.

"According to the National Institutes of Health, people in the U.S. are living longer than ever before," Nagel says. "It is important to start living a healthy lifestyle now because there's no getting around one thing -- as we age, our bodies and minds change."

Register by Oct. 26 by calling 49-45239. Limited seating is available.

The Center for Healthy Living's workshops and resources are provided at no cost to benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan. Workshops are designed to educate attendees and improve their overall health. For more information on services offered at the center, visit the center online.
