Purdue staff development programs recognize graduates

The Accomplished Clerical Excellence (ACE) and the Council for Manager Development (CMD) programs graduated a combined 43 University staff members this spring.
On May 6, a celebration was held in Purdue Memorial Union's North Ballroom to recognize this year's ACE class. Twenty-three clerical staff members from various areas across campus graduated from the two-year program.
The ACE program teaches interpersonal, organizational, time management, supervisory and technology skills. It provides information about University resources, verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, resume writing, financial planning, professionalism and many other skills.

CMD recognized 20 individuals from across campus on May 5 at a celebratory dinner in the East Faculty Lounge of Purdue Memorial Union. CMD is a two-year professional development experience for appointed administrative and professional staff members who report up through key executives of the University.
The first year of the program is devoted to meeting University executives, learning about the complexities of a large university and the leadership philosophies of Purdue's senior staff. The group works in self-directed teams to further research, study and develop identified issues at Purdue into a project presentation with recommendations.
The treasurer and chief financial officer sponsors ACE and CMD.
