April 20, 2015

Purdue Parent & Family Programs has announced that Anthony Denhart and Kathleen Prechtel have been selected as the co-chairs for the Purdue Parent & Family Advisory Board for 2015-16.

As the co-chairs, Denhart and Prechtel will collaborate with Purdue Parent & Family Programs to help the program reach its goals, which are providing feedback on parent and family programs and experiences; communicating with parents and families; serving as a liaison between parents, families and the University; and helping to support Purdue Parent & Family Programs through fundraising. The board engages parents and families as stakeholders in their student’s campus experience.

Denhart is the university relations manager for GE Corporate and has been engaged with university recruiting, relations, and research for over 20 years. He also serves on the advisory boards of the Purdue Science Bound Program and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Denhart is a Purdue graduate in electrical engineering technology. He and his wife, Rhonda Denhart, have a son, Jake, who is a sophomore at Purdue studying industrial management, and a daughter, Nicole, who is a junior at Noblesville High School. Rhonda is also a Purdue graduate.

Prechtel is the school nutrition director for St. Rose of Lima School and has served on the Purdue Parent & Family Advisory Board since 2009. Most recently, she served as the Parent & Family Board representative to the Purdue University Safety and Security ad hoc committee in 2014.

Prechtel earned her degree from Purdue University in dietetics and has been a registered dietitian since 1984. Prechtel and her husband, David Prechtel, have four children: a son, Eric, who graduated from Purdue with a bachelor’s degree in selling and sales management; a daughter, Allison, who is a senior in health sciences at Purdue; a son, Bryan, who is a sophomore in technology at Purdue; and a son, Mark, who is a junior at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis.
