Parent, caregiver workshop to focus on activity, nutrition

June 1, 2015

Purdue Human Resources will host a family-friendly workshop on encouraging movement and healthy food choices in children from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday (June 4) in Stewart Center, Room 311. Registration is due Wednesday (June 3). Limited seats are available.

The "I Am Moving, I Am Learning" workshop, designed for parents and caregivers of children birth to 5 years old, is a fun, active program to encourage children's movement and healthy food choices each day. The workshop, presented by Kelsie Muller from Purdue Extension, will share activities to do with children indoors or outdoors, nutrition tips and fun ways to support a child's healthy development.

The workshops are open to faculty, staff, students and spouses/same-sex domestic partners. Those attending are encouraged to bring lunch to eat while listening to the presentation. Time for asking questions and networking with other parents will be offered.

To register for this or any other upcoming family workshops, call 49-60312 or email familyfriendly@purdue.edu.
