The Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee, at its April 8 meeting, elected its 2015-16 vice chair and emeritus members.
The committee chose Sam Guffey, a laboratory manager in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, as its next vice chair. On APSAC, he represents the colleges of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine as well as Purdue Extension. He will take office June 1, when Joy May, the current vice chair, will become chair in accordance with the APSAC operating procedures.
Four APSAC members finishing their terms were elected as emeritus members. The emeritus members serve one additional year starting June 1, without vote, as resources to APSAC to provide continuity and knowledge. Those elected are Andrea Thomas, Tyson McFall, John Fassnacht and Amy Childress. Thomas is the current APSAC chair.
APSAC also heard a variety of reports and participated in a professional development activity with Alvin Lee, employee relations specialist in Human Resources.
