Space Planning and Management join Physical Facilities
March 2, 2015
Space planning and management functions and associated staff are now part of the Physical Facilities organization.
Space administration activities are a critical component of effective campus asset management and are consistent with Physical Facilities' responsibility for the University's facilities, lands and infrastructure. This organizational transition will provide opportunities for operational alignment, which will yield enhanced space utilization and customer service.
Susan Hutson, assistant director for space planning, and Kim Rechkemmer, assistant director for space management, will report to Brad Bowen, Physical Facilities director of engineering, while a search for a director of space management is conducted. Space planning and management requests should continue to be directed to Hutson and Rechkemmer during the transition period.
Related academic data collection and analysis activities will continue to be addressed by the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Effectiveness, which reports to Brent Drake, chief data officer. Frank Blalark, university registrar, will maintain responsibility for academic and classroom scheduling.
