Progress report on COACHE survey of faculty satisfaction

March 23, 2015

Purdue faculty are responding at a record rate to the 2015 Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) survey of work-life satisfaction. Peter Hollenbeck, professor of biological sciences and interim associate vice provost for faculty affairs, reports that in two months, participation has topped 50 percent of all faculty.

"The response rate is definitely encouraging, but I'd like to see it grow even more," Hollenbeck says. Three weeks remain until the survey closes. Faculty who have not yet responded will receive a final email reminder this week directly from COACHE with their personal link to the survey.

As in 2012, the anonymized faculty data collected from the survey will be used to identify and improve areas of work-life at Purdue.

"I urge all my colleagues who have yet to take the survey to complete it in the time we have left," Hollenbeck says. "Remember: The larger our data set, the better our ability to press for positive changes for faculty at Purdue."
