Honors College keynote, workshop to focus on 'Turning Passion into Action'

January 23, 2015

Purdue's Honors College is kicking off this semester's Meet the Innovator Series with a keynote and workshop from Hilary Gridley, campaigns manager at DoSomething.org.

DoSomething.org is a nonprofit organization with the goal of motivating young people to take action around social changes through national campaigns and grants for projects.

The workshop, "Turning Passion into Action," will explore the ways in which students can become involved and start their own campaign. The workshop and keynote will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 29) at the Córdova Recreational Sports Center, Boilermaker Room.

This event is open to the public. Due to limited seating, an RSVP is required at https://honors.purdue.edu/events/calendar/index.html.

"The Honors College is excited to bring DoSomething.org to campus in the hope of inspiring interdisciplinary campaigns that will positively affect Purdue and the surrounding communities," says Sashaun Wood, programming director for the Honors College.

The Meet the Innovator speaker series was created to connect the community with interdisciplinary thinkers who are making a difference in the world around them. Through bringing speakers to campus and partnerships across campus, the series aims to inspire the future leaders with the change makers of today. To learn more, visit the Purdue Honors College online event calendar at https://honors.purdue.edu/events/calendar/index.html
