Two Boilermaker matchups this weekend

Purdue will take on Michigan State for two kinds of football on Saturday. First, the Purdue football team will face the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. at Ross-Ade Stadium. Then the women's soccer team get its turn at 7 p.m. at the Boilermaker Soccer Complex.

TODAY

Ride the Boilermaker Special: The Purdue Reamer Club will offer the Purdue community free rides on the Boilermaker Special. Pickup and drop-off are on the west side of Stewart Center about every 15 minutes. All rides are weather-permitting. Rides typically take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., but times can vary based on pilot availability.

SATURDAY

Boilermaker Crossing: Purdue fans can meet the teams, play on inflatable games, get prizes, listen to live music and more at the family-friendly Boilermaker Crossing at 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday at Sally and Bob Weist Plaza between Mackey Arena and the Brees Academic Center (IAF). The event is free.

211° Session: The 211° Session pre-game pep rally will feature the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band, football head coach Darrell Hazell and the Boilermaker football players. The event starts at 1:19 p.m. in Mackey Arena.

Purdue wrestling open practice: Purdue wrestling coach head Tony Ersland is inviting fans to attend an open practice as the Boilermakers welcome the arrival of the 2014-15 season. Practice will be held 1:30-3 p.m. in Lambert Fieldhouse. Details are here.

Purdue football vs. Michigan State: The game starts at 3:30 p.m. at Ross-Ade Stadium. Ticket information is available here. Saturday's matchup is the Hammer Down Cancer Game, during which the Boilermakers will wear special neon yellow logos on their helmets in support of cancer research and in honor of cancer survivors.

Purdue women's soccer: The Purdue women's soccer team will take on Michigan State at 7 p.m. at the Boilermaker Soccer Complex. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students. Fans who bring their ticket stub from the Purdue-Michigan State football game get in for $1. On game day, tickets are sold only at the site.

Boilermaker Butcher Block tailgating orders: Boilermaker fans who enjoy grilling burgers and brats at tailgates can now pre-order their meat from the Boilermaker Butcher Block and pick it up on game day. Orders for the Nov. 8 home game are due by 5 p.m. Nov. 5. More information about program and how to order is here.
