Procurement Services Central Mailbox for large requests to be launched on the West Lafayette campus effective Monday
October 15, 2014
Procurement Services is launching a new process for the West Lafayette campus to accelerate requests for purchases or estimates of $10,000 and greater, effective Monday (Oct. 20).
This process, called the Central Mailbox, requires some basic information:
* Your name, department, email, phone.
* Your business office contact (name, email, phone).
* Title of item or service requested (e.g., centrifuge, utility vehicle, furnace repair, etc.).
* Date the product/service is needed.
* Anticipated cost of the product/service.
* Indication of "purchase" or "estimate" of the product/service.
Documents containing minimum specifications such as detailed descriptions of equipment or service may be attached along with any additional information that will help Procurement Services expedite your requirements.
Responses to all requests will be issued within two working days, identifying the buyer responsible for the purchase and the anticipated timeline. Additional information or required documentation may also be requested at that time.
Benefits include:
* One location to submit your request.
* Requests processed according to the date and time they are received.
* Electronic confirmation of the purchase request.
* Visibility of the assigned buyer for your request.
* Input of purchase requisition into Ariba only after the request has been finalized and the requestor has a made a selection following the sourcing review. This will expedite the approval flow of the requisition and should result in quicker issuance of a purchase order.
Request instructions and the link to submit your request can be found at www.purdue.edu/business/procurement/audience/facultystaff.html.
