Bravo Award pilot extended for second year

October 14, 2014

The Bravo Award program for employees, based on a successful pilot year, is continuing with a few modifications for a second pilot year, Human Resources has announced. In 2013-14, the program, which rewards employees for significant results-oriented achievements, processed 769 awards at a value of $389,275.

After considering the feedback received throughout the first program year, HR is making some changes to facilitate administration. The changes for the 2014-15 plan year include:

* Three levels of Bravo Awards will be available: $500, $750 and $1,000.

* Seven-and-a-half percent of the eligible population will be targeted to receive an award.

* The funding limit allocation by employee category will be eliminated.

* The service requirement will be reduced from one year to three months of completed service.

Funding limits will be distributed soon, and units may begin accepting nominations for the 2014-15 plan year. Awards may be processed once funding limits have been distributed. For units that would like to begin participating this year, or with questions about the program, contact bravo@purdue.edu.

Participation in Bravo is strongly encouraged and applauded, says Luis E. Lewin, vice president for human resources.
