Benefits open enrollment begins today

October 27, 2014

Faculty and staff may enroll in 2015 benefits beginning today and ending at 6 p.m. (ET) Nov. 14.

"We hope everyone will take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity to review their benefits," says Eva Nodine, benefits director in Human Resources. "You'll live with your benefit decisions for a full year, so it's worth a few minutes to review your choices and be sure you've recorded everything properly for 2015."

Faculty and staff will go to the Purdue Employee Portal at www.purdue.edu/employeeportal, click the EBenefits link at the top of the page and then enter their Purdue career account username and password to access the EBenefits site. Following the "Click here to begin 2015 enrollment" link will let the employee view benefit information and begin the enrollment process.

Employees who do not know their Purdue career account username or password, may call the service number for their campus:

* West Lafayette: 49-44000
* Calumet: 219-989-2888
* Fort Wayne: 260-481-6030
* North Central: 219-785-5511

Employees have a variety of resources to help them as they make decisions and enroll.

* Benefits open enrollment guide, dropped in campus mail today.

* Purdue Benefits website, www.purdue.edu/benefits/enroll.html.

* Online recorded presentations, www.purdue.edu/hr/Benefits/Medical/recordedPresentations.html. Each of the three recorded presentations highlights a specific portion of the live presentation. With only a few benefit changes for 2015, many employees will be able to find the enrollment information they seek through the convenient online recordings.

* Walk-in labs and live presentations, listed in the enrollment guide and on the Benefits website. They also will noted each day in Purdue Today's faculty and staff news section.

* Truven Informed Enrollment tool, accessed through EBenefits. Truven uses the employee's claims history from April 2013-March 2014 to estimate the employee's total cost under each 2015 medical option. Estimates include premiums, deductibles and coinsurance.

* Human Resources, 49-42222, hr@purdue.edu or www.purdue.edu/HRHelp.
