The Purdue United Way Campaign's social media contest kicked off today with the first clue designed to help faculty, staff and students win a United Way T-shirt and an additional special prize.

Called "Where's Jamie?," the contest involves finding a hidden picture of a stick figure that represents the character Jamie from this video, which describes this year's United Way of Greater Lafayette Campaign.

The first clue is:

Purdue works hard to transform agriculture, and United Way programs work to improve the lives of all Jamies. #PurdueUW

The clue, which provides a hint about where to find the stick figure this week, is being published in Purdue Today as well as through the Twitter accounts @PurdueToday and @LifeAtPurdue.  New clues will be published each Monday during the weeks of Sept. 15-Nov. 17. The stick figure will be in a different location each week.

The clues' text and the locations relate thematically to United Way's mission components, including education, which is the theme of this year's Greater Lafayette campaign. A United Way T-shirt will accompany the hidden picture.

Each week, the first faculty member, staff member or student who finds the stick figure and shirt is asked to take a "selfie" photo of themselves wearing the shirt next to the figure. Winners, who may keep the shirt, should then send the photo and their name to Anne Parks, director of the Purdue United Way Campaign, at arparks@prf.org. Next, the winner must bring the photo and the stick figure to the front desk of Dauch Alumni Center to receive an additional prize.

Those who do not have a smartphone can take the picture of Jamie to Dauch, where an employee will take their photo before giving the prize. Individuals can receive a prize only once. There will only be one winner per week.

At the winners' discretion, the photos will be published through Purdue's social media accounts. They may opt out of this if desired.
