Parking Facilities issues reminders as fall semester approaches

With the start of the fall semester approaching, Parking Facilities advises that faculty and staff check their permit expiration date, off-campus students consider applying for a "C" parking permit, and all customers keep upcoming extended hours in mind.

Faculty and staff should check the expiration date on their current parking permits. Individuals who purchased a two-year parking permit last fall will still have another year before renewal is required; however, if a one-year permit was purchased, then the permit will only be valid through Friday (Aug. 15).

New permits may be purchased at the Parking Facilities office or purchased online. Permits purchased online may be sent to faculty and staff through campus mail or picked up in person via the Express Line at the Parking Facilities office, 1404 W. State St. in the Purdue West Shopping Plaza. Regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Students living at least one-and-a-half miles from campus may apply for a "C" parking permit online by selecting "apply for a 2014-15 C permit" and attaching proof of their fall address. Once approved, the students will receive notification that they may purchase a permit either online or in person at the Parking Facilities office. If the purchase is completed online, the permit can be mailed to the student or picked up via the Express Line at the Parking Facilities office.

In addition to its normal hours, Parking Facilities will have special hours on Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
