Baer to serve as interim comptroller

Linda Baer, assistant comptroller for Payroll Services, has agreed to serve as interim comptroller, effective Aug. 6.
Baer will assume this responsibility from Mary Catherine Gaisbauer, who recently accepted the position of assistant controller for grants and contracting at University of California, San Francisco. Baer will be working closely with Gaisbauer through the first week in August as part of the transition period.
Baer has been the assistant comptroller since 2013. She served as special assistant to the comptroller from 2012 to 2013 and was the assistant vice chancellor for business services and comptroller at Purdue University Calumet from 2002 to 2012. In her interim role, she will be responsible for directing the administrative and operational activities associated with the collection and disbursement of funds and recording all financial transactions of the University.
