APRIL 24

Discovery Lecture Series event. Also a highlight of the week in which we observe Earth Day. Julian Agyeman, a pioneering figure in the "just sustainabilities" movement, will speak. "West Side Story." Tonight, tonight won't be just any night. This classic musical brings a poignant story and memorable music ranging from vigorous to sassy to romantic. $. 7:30 p.m. Elliott Hall of Music. Details

APRIL 25

Life in Color tour Unleash, featuring Adventure Club, Solano, Machine Gun Kelly and Cash Cash. The Purdue Student Concert Committee, with Purdue Convocations, is showing us that mere concerts aren't enough anymore. Hint: The people who got VIP tickets got a bottle of paint and a merchandise pack. $. 6 p.m. Parking lot of the Córdova Recreational Sports Center; rain date is April 27. Grand Prix

Grand Prix

Purdue Bands & Orchestras' Spring Spectacular. Take note, or rather, thousands of notes. The weekend offers three performances plus other rousing good times in the interest of supporting scholarships. Every Bands & Orchestras ensemble will perform, many of them led by famed guest conductor Julie Giroux. $. Details

APRIL 26

57th Purdue Grand Prix. It's still a scholarship benefit and still the Greatest Spectacle in College Racing. $. The venue opens at 8:30 a.m.; feature race at 2:30 p.m. Grand Prix track, west of McCormick Road near Cherry Lane. Note: A free shuttle will use several campus pickup points; it's recommended due to very limited parking at the track. Details

Purdue Farmers Market. The season opener. Fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, freshly prepared lunches, more. Mmm, mmm. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursdays at the north end of Memorial Mall.

Jazz on the Hill

Discovery Lecture Series event. This might rev your engine. Tom Linebarger, chairman and CEO of Cummins Inc., will speak on "Driving Global Success Through Environmental Sustainability" after opening remarks by President Mitch Daniels. 1:30-2:20 p.m. Pfendler Hall, Deans Auditorium (Room 241).
