CHS to merge with another worksite health center company

April 11, 2014

CHS Health Services, the company that runs the Center for Healthy Living for Purdue, has announced that Water Street Healthcare Partners, a health care industry investor, has signed agreements to become the majority investor in both CHS and Take Care Employer Solutions. Take Care is a Walgreens subsidiary that manages hundreds of worksite health care centers nationwide.

Water Street plans to merge CHS and Take Care Employer Solutions to form a new company dedicated to providing worksite health centers, such as Purdue's Center for Healthy Living. Many of CHS's executives will become chief officers in the merged company, whose name is not yet determined.

According to information from CHS, the merger will not have any immediate effect on the daily operations of any health centers, fitness centers or pharmacies operated by the company. In addition, CHS says no changes are planned for any site-based staff or operations, such as those at the Center for Healthy Living.
