'Art for Andrew' event to honor Boldt

February 12, 2014

The Multicultural Efforts to end Sexual Assault (MESA) program and Latino Cultural Center will hold "Art for Andrew. Art to end Violence" on Thursday (Feb. 13) in honor of Andrew Boldt, a senior in the College of Engineering who was killed Jan. 21 in a shooting on campus.

The event, which is being held to encourage healing, unity and exploration of how people can end violence, will be 6-8 p.m. at Lawson Computer Science Building, Room 1106.

Participants will have the opportunity to create their own artwork for healing, and a collective piece also will be created to be presented to Boldt's family. Local artist Andrea Wellnitz also will lead participants in an art activity.

A counselor from Purdue's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will be available at the event.
