New HTM golf event, auction to benefit scholarships

The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is inviting golfers, sponsors and contributors of silent auction items to support scholarships through HTM's inaugural Alumni Golf Tournament on Homecoming weekend.

The golf and auction will take place Sept. 27 at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. Proceeds will support the HTM Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Check-in will open at 10:30 a.m., and participants will share a buffet lunch at 11 a.m. Golfing will start at noon on the Kampen Course using a shotgun scramble for foursomes. After 18 holes of golf, an awards reception including beer and wine will start at 5 p.m., as will the silent auction.

Cost of the golf outing including lunch and reception is $150 per person or $595 per foursome. For the reception and auction only, the cost is $49. Registration is needed whether golfing or not. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.

On Homecoming Day, Sept. 28, the school will host a coffee and a building tour at Marriott Hall starting at 9 a.m.
