'Sidewinder' sculpture to be removed on Wednesday

April 30, 2013

Patrick Dougherty's temporary sculpture installation, "Sidewinder," will be taken down on Wednesday (May 1), weather permitting.

"Sidewinder" has been located near Pao Hall since its completion and dedication on March 24, 2011. The work consists of red maple and black willow saplings, and as such, was never meant to be a permanent piece.

Throughout the "Sidewinder" project, multiple campus entities have collaborated for its construction and care. More information on  Dougherty and "Sidewinder" may be found at www.cla.purdue.edu/vpa/vpa/lonsford/sidewinder.html.
