Purdue Extended Campus to host panel on MOOCs

Faculty members are invited to learn about massive open online courses (MOOCs) on April 24 at "MOOCs: A Non-Trivial Experience," a panel hosted by Purdue Extended Campus.
The panel will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the West Faculty Lounge of the Purdue Memorial Union. Refreshments will be served.
The panel is made up of Ananth Iyer, associate dean of graduate studies for Krannert School of Management; Bill Buttlar, associate dean of graduate students from the University of Illinois; and Jennifer Bott, assistant provost for learning initiatives from Ball State University.
The panel will explain the new online education concept and discuss the future opportunities and challenges relating to the courses. Panel members also will discuss their experiences on creating their institution's online course strategies.
Purdue Extended Campus will provide information regarding its instructional design approach, support and assessment process. Time will be set aside to answer any faculty questions regarding the development, design and implementation of the courses.
