PEAP sets Taste of Chicago trip

The Purdue Employees Activity Program, a subcommittee of the Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee, is sponsoring a trip on July 13 to Chicago for the 33rd annual Taste of Chicago food festival.

The trip is open to all Purdue staff, faculty, family and friends.

Buses are scheduled to leave from the Freehafer Hall parking lot at 10 a.m. The bus will leave Chicago for the trip back to Purdue at 9 p.m. CT.

Cost for the bus is $15 per person. Entrance into the Taste is free. Food and beverage tickets can be purchased at the event. They are sold in strips of 12 for $8.

One of the nation's biggest food festivals, the Taste of Chicago showcases the diversity of the city's dining community. It also features music and other family activities. There will be two music venues on July 13. Free concerts on the Bud Light Stage will feature The Bergamot, Vintage Blue Canasta, The Steakhouse Mints, Paper Thick Walls, Canasta and Company of Thieves. Chloe and Halle will be featured in another free concert at the Petrillo Music Center. Also in concert at the Petrillo Music Center on July 13 will be Jill Scott, featuring Maxi Priest. Tickets are $25.
