Foundations of Excellence forum materials online

April 18, 2013

Materials and videos from the Forum on Collaborating for Student Success at Purdue, held March 27 as part of the Foundations of Excellence (FoE) initiative, are available online at www.purdue.edu/FOE.

At the forum, more than 400 faculty, administrators, staff and students came together to discuss Purdue's commitment to student success. Speakers and breakout sessions focused on strategies for creating partnerships that will lead to greater academic and co-curricular success. The forum was held in support of the University's goal to increase retention rates and degree completion.

The online materials include a summary report, videos, and PowerPoint presentations from President Mitch Daniels, Tim Sands, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, and Dale Whittaker, vice provost for undergraduate academic affairs. The website also includes PowerPoint presentations from forum presenters Charles Schroeder and Jillian Kinzie. The website also includes additional information about the FoE initiative, including the philosophy statement and the initiative's 11 recommendations.

Participants are invited to continue the forum's conversations through the formation of communities of practice, which will launch next fall. Additional communication will follow in the coming weeks and months.

Those who did not attend the forum but are interested in participating in future conversations should email Jared Tippets, director of student success at Purdue, at jtippets@purdue.edu or Daphene Koch, associate professor of building construction management, at cryd@purdue.edu.
