Campus Fit Club: Team up for exercise, weight loss

A personalized exercise program in a small-group setting, modeled after popular TV shows such as "The Biggest Loser," is available starting Monday (June 10) from the Division of Recreational Sports. Registration is available through Friday (June 7).

Teams of three to six friends are encouraged to join Campus Fit Club 2013 to exercise and lose weight, as well as support each other along the way. Rec Sports personal trainers will develop personalized fitness plans for use during the six-week program June 10-July 26 and beyond.

The program is open to faculty and staff with a DRS membership, as well as Purdue students. For those who are not DRS members already, $45 purchases a summer membership is for faculty and staff, retirees and students taking fewer than six credit hours; a limited retiree membership is $30. The rate is $90 for alumni and their households. Full-time students are automatically summer members.

The program cost is $90 per person.

Each participant in Campus Fit Club receives:


* 12 Group Personal Training sessions (two sessions/week).
* Fitness assessment.
* Weekly educational and motivational updates from program staff.

* Biweekly brown bag wellness workshops.

* A Fit Club "punch card" to track progress toward personal goals.

* Workouts and Group X classes.
* Constant support from your trainers and teammates.

To register, obtain training packet at DRS Member Services in the atrium of the Córdova Recreational Sports Center or online at www.purdue.edu/recsports/programs/fitness_and_wellness/personal_training/pdf/Campus_Fit_Club_Packet2013.pdf. Fill out the form in the packet and turn it in, with the names of all members in the group, at the Member Services desk.
