University Regulations website has new name, URL

March 6, 2013

Purdue's University Regulations website is now called Student Regulations and can be found at a new URL, www.purdue.edu/studentregulations.

The website's name and URL changed on Feb. 20. The old URL, www.purdue.edu/univregs, redirects to the new website.

Subpages of the previous website do not redirect to their renamed counterparts. Instead, subpage URLs redirect to the main Student Regulations page. Anyone who has bookmarked website subpages should go to the Student Regulations main site, find the needed page and bookmark it again manually.

The website's name and URL was changed to reflect more accurately its content, which is for purposes of student governance rather than University-wide policies, say David Allen, senior web designer-producer, and Patrick Brown, digital content manager. Allen and Brown work in the Office of Marketing and Media, which suggested and implemented the site's name and URL change. The Office of the Dean of Students approved the changes.

The changes were made also so the site was not confused with the University Policies website, and so users could more easily find the Student Regulations page using search engines. The website's purposes and contents have not changed.
