Center for Healthy Living can help employees save money on office visits, lab work

Employees using the new Center for Healthy Living will get high-quality health care at hard-to-beat prices. The center opens Wednesday (Feb. 27) in the Purdue West Shopping Center at 1400 W. State St.

Employees and family members covered by the Purdue Incentive or Purdue Copay medical plans will get the following pricing:

* Preventive care at no charge (age 18 and older).
* Non-preventive care for a $10 copay (age 8 weeks and older).

Employees and family members covered by the Purdue Choice Fund medical plan will get the following pricing:

* Preventive care at no charge (age 18 and older).
* Non-preventive care at "fair market value" prices (age 8 weeks and older). (Fair market value fees are in keeping with IRS regulations applying to high-deductible medical plans. For a list of fees, go to www.purdue.edu/healthyliving.)

All benefits-eligible employees will be eligible for the following services at no charge, regardless of medical plan participation:

* Health coaching.
* Registered dietitian services.
* Medication management services.
* Employee assistance counseling.

Clients will be required to present their Purdue insurance ID card. Employees who are not on a Purdue medical plan will need to show their Purdue University ID (PUID) card.

The Tier 1 lab now located at the State Street Office Facility (SSOF) at 1601 W. State St. will move to the Center for Healthy Living effective Feb. 27 and will continue to provide Tier 1 lab services through Mid America Clinical Laboratories (MACL).
