Senior director of project management and construction appointed

On Oct. 29, Ted Weidner began as the new senior director of project management and construction in Physical Facilities.
Weidner reports to Bob McMains, vice president for physical facilities, and is responsible for the system-wide administration of construction services.
Weidner has worked in higher education facilities since 1982 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Illinois State University, Eastern Illinois University, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has overseen construction projects ranging from roof replacements to nanotechnology, semiconductor and BL3 labs.
Weidner earned a PhD in civil engineering and is a registered architect, professional engineer and a fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineering. In 2009, he received the Meritorious Service Award from APPA, an international association for leadership in the quality of educational facilities.
