Lambert Fieldhouse track access to be curtailed

December 13, 2012

In an effort to increase safety and reduce risk, access to the indoor track area of Lambert Fieldhouse will be curtailed, effective Jan. 9.

The decision was made by Intercollegiate Athletics after consultation with the Department of Health and Kinesiology, campus police and other Environment Health and Public Safety officials.

Faculty and staff members who have used Lambert to exercise are encouraged to take advantage of the newly renovated and expanded France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center.

Lambert has been used for years by myriad of individuals, but their use has been unsupervised, creating a significant risk to the University.

Signs will be posted throughout the facility. Athletics wishes to express its appreciation for everyone's understanding.
