Grad students encouraged to be part of research fair

November 8, 2012

Graduate students are invited to apply to make poster presentations at the coming Next Generation Scholars Research Fair for local seventh- and eighth-graders. Applications including a brief abstract are due at end of day Sunday (Nov. 11).

This third annual fair, organized by Purdue Graduate Student Government, will take place at 9-11:30 a.m. Nov. 30 at the Discovery Learning Research Center in Discovery Park. PGSG is collaborating with Tecumseh Junior High School in Lafayette. The fair allows more than 40 younger students to sample the breadth of research at Purdue, and it provides graduate students a venue to develop skills in poster presentation. Free poster printing and a free lunch are provided.

All Purdue graduate students are eligible. Application details are at http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~pgsg/next-generation-scholars-research-fair. A research abstract of 100-250 words is part of the application.
