Weight Watchers at Work returns to West Lafayette campus; new incentive available

September 21, 2012

With the start of a new 17-week Weight Watchers program, WorkLife Programs is wiping the slate clean on the West Lafayette campus and introducing a new incentive. Regional campuses should check with their campus wellness program for Weight Watchers program details.

There will be four new sessions of Weight Watchers in West Lafayette starting in October:

* Mondays, Oct. 1-Feb. 18. Noon-1 p.m., Stewart Center.

* Tuesdays, Oct. 2-Feb. 12. 11 a.m.-noon. Physical Facilities Service Building.

* Tuesdays, Oct. 2-Feb. 12. Noon-1 p.m. Stewart Center

* Thursdays, Oct. 4-Feb. 21. Noon-1 p.m. Physics Building.

For those looking either to achieve significant, long-term weight loss or just trying to shed a few pounds, Weight Watchers at Work can help effect a lifestyle change to assist with that goal. If a participant’s Body Mass Index (BMI) is over 25, WorkLife Programs will pay for half of the $186 class fee if participants attend 14 of 17 weigh-ins. Those who do not complete at least 14 weigh-ins will receive a bill from Purdue’s Accounts Receivable for $93. Participants are eligible for only one incentive in their lifetime. To calculate BMI, visit www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/.

At the first information session, participants will register, meet their leader, get information about the session and write a check to Weight Watchers for $93. Weight Watchers leaders will record participants’ weight on their cards and indicate who completes 14 of 17 weigh-ins.

Weigh-ins can be at any official Weight Watchers meeting, including campus meetings, local or global community meetings, and the new location: Tower Corners Weight Watchers Center, 977 S. Creasy Lane, Lafayette.

Participants who previously have received the incentive for the 17-week program and wish to participate in additional sessions will pay Weight Watchers for the full amount, $186.
