Executive director named for new Administrative Computing office

July 15, 2010

Terry Schroeder has been named the executive director of Administrative Computing, a new position that reports to Gerry McCartney, vice president for information technology, chief information officer, and Olga Osterle England Professor of Information Technology.

Schroeder was previously the assistant director of business services computing.

Administrative Computing is a new organization on the West Lafayette campus that combines the administrative and business computing units into a single organization.

Schroeder said the streamlined organization will reduce redundant services and be more cost-efficient.

"We hope to balance the efficiencies of a consolidated organization with the needs of our colleagues and their business needs," he said.

Details of the campus-wide IT reorganization can be found in the Campus Information Technology Plan, which was approved in April. A PDF version of the plan can be found here.
