'Boiler Bytes 25' premiering on BTN's Purdue day

A new installment of a Purdue's news magazine on the Big Ten Network will premiere today (July 12) as BTN celebrates a full day plus of Purdue-related programs.

"Boiler Bytes 25," a 30-minute program produced by Purdue, will debut at 4 p.m. on BTN. It has four featured segments giving a closer look at some points of campus talent and tradition:

* Art and technology in the theatre -- Two Purdue engineering students serve up the scares in Purdue Theatre's ghostly production of the Noel Coward play "Blithe Spirit" as part of their spring semester studies.
 
* Exploring nano-scale science --At Purdue's Discovery Park, students from around the state of Indiana learned all about the "science of the very small" during the park's annual NanoDays outreach celebration.  
 
* 100+ years of the Glee Club
The Purdue Varsity Glee Club shares its many traditions that have bonded its members throughout time.
 
* Champion long jumper Leah Eber
Purdue student-athlete Leah Eber leads both on the field and on the runway as a Big Ten champion long jumper and an apparel design and technology major.

July 12-13 is one of three occasions this summer when BTN provides an entire day of Purdue coverage. In addition to memorable sports events and personalities, this day will have "Boiler Bytes," an in-depth feature on Nobel laureate Ei-ichi Negishi, and additional Boiler Bytes segments.
