Campus Fit Club at Rec Sports inviting entrants

May 17, 2010

Registration is now open for the Recreational Sports Center's summer Campus Fit Club. In a program modeled after popular TV shows such as "Celebrity Fit Club" and "The Biggest Loser," personal trainers at the RSC will guide participants through a 10-week personalized exercise regimen.

Teams of three to six members will meet 12 times with a personal trainer over the course of the program. During the first session, each participant will undergo a fitness assessment. Based on these assessments, the trainers will create a customized program and set long-term goals for each participant. The trainers also will use these assessments to develop team activities for future sessions.

During the program, points will be awarded for healthy weight loss as well as for participation in a variety of physical activity and educational opportunities outside the training sessions. Based on those points, a winning team and individual will be named at the end of the 10 weeks.

New additions to the Campus Fit Club program this summer include new bonus point opportunities, exciting team challenges, integration with a nutritional consultation and weekly updates from the program staff.

Campus Fit Club starts the week of June 21 and ends Aug. 20. The deadline for teams to register is June 18, and the cost is $90 per person.

Participants must be RSC members to participate in Campus Fit Club. Summer membership is available. To register, visit the RSC or call 49-43109.
