CityBus 19 Inner Loop route to begin on campus Monday

July 12, 2012

On Monday (July 16), the new CityBus 19 Inner Loop route will begin to serve the Purdue community.

Providing enhanced service to the entire campus along Harrison, Grant, State, University and Third Streets, as well as Martin Jischke Drive, the 19 Inner Loop route will replace the 19 South Campus Loop route.

The new 19 Inner Loop route will serve an expanded area of campus and will include stops at or near Rec Sports, Discovery Park, Lynn Hall, Dauch Alumni Center, Purdue Memorial Union, Stewart Center, Beering Hall, Elliott Hall of Music, Schleman Hall and Hovde Hall.

Designated stops also provide convenient access to several significant parking facilities, including the Armory Lot, University Street Garage, Discovery Park Lot (south of Nimitz Drive) and Wood Street Garage. The Purdue Memorial Union stop is within a half-block of the Grant Street Garage.

The route is being added to provide a dedicated bus loop in the interior of campus that is simple and efficient to encourage more faculty and staff ridership. The change aligns with the University's Sustainability Strategic Plan and will help to connect the academic, research and administrative centers of campus.

The 19 Inner Loop route will be in service Monday through Friday and will run every 10 minutes during daytime and early evening hours. The 19 Inner Loop route will not be in service on holidays.

Additional route and schedule information, including a route map, is available at www.gocitybus.com/campusloop/19.html.

Purdue students, faculty and staff may travel on any CityBus route free of charge by presenting their Purdue ID card when boarding a bus.
