WorkLife Programs offering two upcoming webinars

May 14, 2012

To meet the needs of staff in remote locations and those unable to leave their desks to attend a presentation, WorkLife Programs is offering webinars.

The next scheduled webinar is "Live Long and Prosper on the Mediterranean Diet," which will be held from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. Friday (May 18). Registered dietitian Linda Monahan will be the host.

The Mediterranean diet is an eating pattern that has yielded long, healthy lives for many people in countries such as Greece and Italy. This dietary pattern provides enjoyment of many flavors and textures of natural foods while optimizing health.

Worklife wellness specialist Amber Simons will host "Men: Do You Need a Health Tune-Up?" from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. May 24.

Men are notorious for skimping on self-care, but "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" really doesn't work when it comes to your health. Information on checkups for men, cancer prevention, and overall wellness will be discussed.

For those unable to attend at the scheduled time, the webinars will be recorded and made available within a few days at www.purdue.edu/worklife.

To participate in a webinar, register online at www.purdue.edu/worklife or call WorkLife Programs at 49-45461. Once a participant has registered for a webinar, the URL for the meeting will be available under "My Enrollment." Access the link provided shortly before the meeting time to attend the webinar. Participants will need a computer with speakers to take part.

Previous webinars are available on demand on the WorkLife Programs registration system. Once logged in at www.purdue.edu/worklife, select "Recorded Webinars."
