Bike to Work Day: Save on gas, get active

May 9, 2012

In celebration of National Bike Month, the campus community is invited to participate in Greater Lafayette's Bike to Work Day on May 18.

Join other cyclists and show Purdue's support for bicycling in the Lafayette community. Ride your bike to work, wear your helmet, save some gas and enjoy some physical activity.

On the day of the ride, a rally for participants will be held at 7:30 a.m. at Main and 11th streets and conclude by 8 a.m. The mayors of Lafayette and West Lafayette will address attendees, and refreshments will be served.

Joining your local bicycle club is another way to improve or maintain your health, as well as being a great social activity. The Wabash River Cycle Club callout follows on May 19 at Tippecanoe Battlefield with a rain date of May 20.
