Following a successful launch with its new location and hours, the Purdue Farmers Market again will offer fruits, vegetables, crafts and other goods from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday (May 10).

The market will take place at Centennial Mall between Wetherill Laboratory of Chemistry and Stanley Coulter Hall. Twenty-minute parking spots will be available along Oval Drive and will be free to use during market hours, which are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays through Oct. 25.

"The market's new location received several positive comments from staff, students and vendors," says Tamm Hoggatt, assistant director of sustainability. "A large number of people used the market as a chance to buy lunch or dessert -- one vendor even sold out of his lunch offering. Thursday's forecast calls for beautiful weather, and I urge staff who are able to take a short break from the office to check out the market."

In addition to local produce, crafts and prepared foods, the market also will offer entertainment this week. Local musician Chris June will play from noon to 1 p.m.

The campus farmers market will complement other markets that operate in Greater Lafayette.
