University Senate elects new committee members

The University Senate has elected new members to its standing committees and to University faculty committees.

The Senate elected the following at its April 23 meeting:

Standing committees

* New members of the Steering Committee, who will service three-year terms: April Ginther, English; David Sanders, biological sciences; and Holly Wang, agricultural economics.

* New members of the Nominating Committee and their terms of service: Stephen Byrn, industrial and physical pharmacy, two years; Richard Cosier, management, two years; Buster Dunsmore, computer science, three years; Michael Fosmire, Libraries, three years; Patricia Hart, languages and cultures, three years; Michael Hill, veterinary clinical sciences, two years; Peter Hirst, horticulture and landscape architecture, three years; Inigo Sanchez-Llama, languages and cultures, three years; and Cleveland Shields, psychological sciences, two years.

* New members of the Educational Policy Committee, who will serve three-year terms: Jennifer Dennis, horticulture and landscape architecture; Teresa Taber Doughty, educational studies; Buster Dunsmore, computer science; and Craig Miller, computer graphics technology.

* New members of the Faculty Affairs Committee, who will serve three-year terms: Michael Levine, statistics, and Yuehwern Yih, industrial engineering.

* New members of the Student Affairs Committee, who will serve three-year terms: April Ginther, English; John Graveel, agronomy; Catherine Scott-Moncrieff, basic medical sciences; and Lynda Thoman, management.

* New members of the University Resources Policy Committee and their terms of service: Pamela Aaltonen, nursing, three years; Michael Fosmire, Libraries, three years; Darryl Granger, earth and atmospheric sciences, three years; John Grutzner, chemistry, three years; Bill Hutzel, mechanical engineering technology, one year; Steve Johnson, civil engineering, two years; Rosemary Kilmer, visual and performing arts, one year; and Bill Krug, technology leadership and innovation, two years.

University faculty committees

* New members of the University Grade Appeals Committee, who will serve through May 31, 2015: Donatella Danielli-Garofalo, mathematics; Demetra Evangelou, engineering education; and Matthew Stephens, technology leadership and innovation.

* New members of the University Censure and Dismissal Procedures Committee, who will serve through May 31, 2015: Sylvie Brouder, agronomy, regular member; Christian Butzke, food science, alternate member; Ryan Cabot, animal sciences, alternate member; Linda Chezem, youth development and agricultural educucation, alternate member; Monica Cox, engineering education, alternate member; and Inigo Sanchez-Llama, languages and cultures, alternate member.
