Learning opportunities available on workplace communication, parenting

Two upcoming classes from Human Resources WorkLife Programs offer education on communicating in the workplace, and children and violence.

"Building Bridges/Breaking Barriers" will be held from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. Wednesday (March 7) at the State Street Office Facility (SSOF). The class will be facilitated by Branna Shores, worklife specialist in WorkLife Programs.

Language can be the bridge -- or the barrier -- among individuals and teams. Discover some tips for enhanced communication and higher understanding in the multicultural workplace.

"Parents Raising Safe Kids: Children and Violence" will take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. Thursday (March 8) in Stewart Center, Room 318. Dreama Love, Purdue extension specialist, will facilitate.

Explore how children may be involved in violence (witness, victim or aggressor) and its affects and consequences in their lives. Learn how to minimize violence risk factors for your child.
