Nominations still open for Jischke international student award

March 1, 2012

The deadline for submitting nominations for the Jischke Outstanding International Student Award has been extended to March 9.

The award recipient, to be announced after spring break, will:

* Receive a $1,000 award from the Jischke Endowment.
* Meet personally with Martin Jischke, president emeritus, and Mike Brzezinski, dean of international programs.

Nominees should be graduating undergraduate seniors (December 2011, May 2012 or August 2012) with a minimum 3.0 grade average. They should have reached out to other international students and promoted cultural understanding through volunteer service.

Nominations should attest to the student's scholarship, leadership, character and service. Service (on or off campus) will receive the greatest emphasis in the selection.

Online nomination forms are available at www.iss.purdue.edu/Resources/NominationForm.pdf and letters of support may be included with the nomination.

Completed nomination forms and all accompanying documentation must be sent electronically to Joe Potts, director of the Office of International Students and Scholars and associate dean of international programs, at jdpotts@purdue.edu.
