Director of compensation and benefits named

Brent Bowditch has been appointed director of compensation and benefits, effective Dec. 5. Bowditch had been assistant vice president for human resources at Michigan State University since September 2008. Prior to serving at Michigan State, Bowditch was the assistant director for staff benefits and worklife programs at Purdue.
  
In his new role, Bowditch leads the benefits, compensation and worklife areas of Human Resources.
  
His duties include overseeing plan design and financial management of Purdue's benefits program. He will work with representatives and experts across the University to recommend strategies for managing the Purdue health care budget while continuing to provide high quality health care for employees and their families.
  
Bowditch will also focus on strategic compensation and classification issues and on matters related to employee wellness and work-life balance.
