November 18, 2011
Mary Sadowski, associate dean for undergraduate programs and learning in the College of Technology, has been named the interim dean of Purdue Extended Campus effective Oct. 1.

Timothy Sands, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, made the announcement and said a candidate search for dean is under way.

Sadowski, who also is a professor of computer graphics technology, returned to Purdue in 2003 after serving as professor of information and management technology at Arizona State University. From 1984 to 1999, she was an assistant and associate professor of computer graphics technology at Purdue. She won the Violet Haas Award for outstanding efforts on behalf of women at Purdue in 2010.

Extended Campus encompasses a range of educational efforts in the areas of conferences and continuing education. In addition to distance education, the continuing education unit provides enrichment programs for seniors, evening courses, and credit and noncredit professional development programs.

Mark Pagano stepped down as dean in September after being named provost and academic vice chancellor at Montana State University Billings.
