Scholarships available for campus child care centers

October 20, 2011

Scholarship applications are being accepted through Nov. 11 for child care assistance from the Patty Jischke "Kids are the Future" endowment. The fund was established to assist faculty, staff and graduate students with accessing and affording quality University child care.

For consideration, parents must fully complete the application, which is available at www.purdue.edu/childcare, and attach income documentation. If the application is for a child not yet enrolled, it must accompany the standard application for day care at an eligible Purdue child care center. Scholarships will be awarded in December 2011. Scholarships are available for multiple children enrolled in the eligible centers.

A limited number of scholarships will be made available on an annual basis for eligible children attending Children's Choice at the Patty Jischke Early Care and Education Center, the Ben and Maxine Miller Child Development Laboratory School and the Purdue Village Center. The value of scholarships is based on funding availability.

Eligibility for scholarships is based on family gross income. The award is granted for up to 12 months.

The scholarship reduces the weekly or monthly fee, based on the center's normal pay procedures. There are no limits on the amount of times a person is selected for an award.
