ADVANCE-Purdue and the Purdue Center for Faculty Success invite faculty, staff and graduate and undergraduate students to submit abstracts for presentations and posters for this year's Gender and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Research Symposium.

The symposium, which will be on Feb. 18 at the West Lafayette campus, will emphasize networking between gender and STEM scholars, capacity building and professional development for students and junior scholars and emerging methods to do substantive studies on gender and STEM.

Virginia Valian, distinguished professor of psychology and linguistics at Hunter College, will give the keynote address at 5 p.m. Feb. 17 in Fowler Hall.

Attendance for both events is free and open to the public. Online registration is required to attend the symposium.

The deadline for abstracts is Saturday (Jan. 15). For more information or to register for the symposium, visit www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/advance/cfs/symposium/symposium.php.
