Energy conservation awareness stickers to be placed

December 10, 2010

Purdue needs the help of its faculty and staff to promote sustainability on campus, and one way to lend a hand is by placing a "Boiler Up, Power Down" light switch sticker to remind everyone to turn off the lights before leaving a room.
Stickers carrying the "Boiler Up, Power Down" slogan are being placed across campus to increase energy conservation awareness, help reduce electricity consumption and lower purchased utilities costs.
Students, staff and faculty have placed around 3,500 student-designed stickers in academic spaces so far. During winter break, volunteers will place 6,000 stickers in University residences.

The goal is to label all light switches in campus facilities. Departments and offices can order the free light switch stickers by contacting Stefanie Black in Physical Facilities at or 49-42306. The stickers will be delivered to the offices to be placed by those who ordered them.
