Panel to focus on Filipino experiences at Purdue

A panel of Purdue students and scholars on July 8 will discuss the challenges and rewards of bridging cultural differences and building on similarities between the U.S. and the Philippines on Purdue's campus.
   
"Filipino Experiences at Purdue: A Dialogue With International Students and Scholars" will be 1:30-3 p.m. in Room 214A, Stewart Center. The facilitator for the discussion is Jose Edwin Cubelo, global diversity scholar in residence at the Diversity Resource Office and the College of Agriculture, and dean of the College of Agriculture at Silliman University in the Philippines.
   
The panel will include Frances Joan Alvarez, Ph.D. student in chemistry; Uris Lantz Baldos,
Ph.D. student in agricultural economics; Maria Obiminda Cambaliza, Ph.D., postdoctoral research associate in  chemistry; and Inez Ponce de Leon, Ph.D. candidate in youth development and agricultural education.

This session, sponsored by the Diversity Resource Office, is free and open to the public. The event is part of the "One Campus, Many Voices" series, which seeks to bridge cultural diversity at Purdue.
