New worker's compensation arrangements go into effect Thursday

Beginning Thursday (July 1), Purdue will begin using JWF Specialty Company for the management of worker's compensation claims.

The switch to JWF will increase personalized service for injured employees, while decreasing administrative costs to the University. 

Injuries that occur prior to July 1, will be handled by Liberty Mutual, Purdue's current worker's compensation administrator. The procedure for reporting claims to Liberty Mutual is unchanged. These claims will not switch to JWF; employees will continue to work with Liberty Mutual on these claims.

Injuries that occur on July 1 or later will be managed by JWF. A new First Report of Injury form (FROI) will be available at www.purdue.edu/rem/home/forms/froi.pdf as of Thursday. Instructions for completing the new form are available through a link found in the form.
