Staff Benefits begins 'call ahead' service
Staff Benefits is urging everyone who plans to drop by Freehafer Hall for assistance to phone before coming.
"A simple call to 494-2222 before heading to Freehafer can benefit the employee in a number of ways," says Cory Melchi, operations and support manager in Staff Benefits.
According to Melchi, many situations can be handled over the phone, saving the employee who called ahead a trip to Freehafer. If the employee still needs or wants to come to the Staff Benefits office, the advance call will have provided the employee with two important pieces of information:
* Assurance that the person the employee needs to see is available.
* Awareness of anything the employee should bring to the meeting.
Employees who need to drop off a document, and have no questions, can skip the advance call.
"Our goal is to provide our faculty and staff with information and assistance for using their benefits to their best advantage," Melchi says.
Staff Benefits Customer Service is available to explain and clarify a wide range of information related to benefits coverage. When the employee needs to speak with someone outside of Staff Benefits to resolve a matter, Staff Benefits assists by guiding the employee to the appropriate resource and providing contact information.
