Forums rescheduled for VP for student affairs candidates

Times and dates have been changed for open forums with candidates for the position of vice president for student affairs.

The forums will be open to students and to faculty, staff and the public.

The vice president for student affairs, who will report to the provost and serve as a member of the President's Cabinet, will supervise the following areas: Dean of Students, Student Health, Recreational Sports, Center for Career Opportunities, Purdue Convocations, Purdue Musical Organizations, Purdue University Bands, and ROTC. The vice president will work collaboratively with residential life. The VPSA will be responsible for student leadership development, crisis and risk management, communications, financial management, resource management and development, the advancement of diversity and inclusion, and student advocacy.

The remaining candidates and the forum dates are as follows:

* Melissa Exum, associate vice chancellor and dean of students, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Public open forum: 2 p.m. April 29, Room 121, Burton D. Morgan Center. Student open forum: 6 p.m. April 29, Room 1142, Lawson Computer Science Building.

* James Richard Walker, assistant vice president for student affairs, University of Miami. Public open forum: 1 p.m. May 5,  Room 314, Stewart Center. Student open forum: 6 p.m. May 4, Room 204, Stewart Center.

* Felicia McGinty, vice chancellor for student affairs, University of California, Santa Cruz. Public open forum: 2:30 p.m. May 7, Room 314, Stewart Center. Student open forum: 7 p.m. May 6 Room 204, Stewart Center.

Forums with Lisa Harris, associate vice president for student affairs, Mississippi State University, were held April 20.
